Twist-on Wire Connectors Orange

The DiversiTech orange twist‑on (a.k.a. screw‑on or wire nut) connectors are insulated caps designed to securely join two or more electrical conductors (wires) by twisting. They are color coded (orange in this case) to indicate their capacity (wire gauge range, number of wires) and voltage rating.

You strip the wire ends, insert them into the connector, and twist the cap. Inside is a coiled spring (or metal insert) that grips and draws the wires together, ensuring both mechanical stability and electrical continuity.

Orange connectors are commonly used for lighter gauge wiring (e.g. 22 to 14 AWG) in control circuits, lighting, or low-voltage applications where a compact, reliable splice is needed. The insulation shell is made of a thermoplastic material (high dielectric) and often includes a “deep skirt” design so that no bare wire is exposed. The shell is also designed to resist chemical attack (hydrocarbons, dilute acids or alkalis) in HVAC or industrial environments.
