A drain pan is used under or around air conditioners, air handlers, evaporator coils, or similar HVAC equipment to catch condensate (water) when moisture condenses during cooling.
The “32×32” refers to the internal footprint of the pan: usually 32 inches by 32 inches.
Material: galvanized steel (resists corrosion and rust better than plain steel).
Purpose: Prevent water damage (from dripping/overflow), to collect moisture, and direct it safely out through a drain line. Sometimes used as primary pan (directly under coil) or secondary/emergency pan (under the whole unit, especially if primary fails).
